About the Position 

The Department of Applied Linguistics invites applicants for a 12-month Limited Term Faculty Appointment (LTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2023.

Our department offers programs of study leading to Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in Applied Linguistics/Teaching English as a Second Language, and Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, as well as an MA in Applied Linguistics/TESL.

Qualifications 

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD (ABD may be considered) in Applied Linguistics or a related discipline (e.g., Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Speech & Hearing Sciences, TESL, Second Language Acquisition). Applicants are expected to have a record of successful teaching and research experience in one or more of the following areas: speech language and hearing sciences; communication disorders; linguistics; TESL.

Candidates must submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a teaching dossier (including a teaching philosophy, statement of teaching interests related to departmental offerings, and evidence of successful high-quality teaching), a statement of research interests, selected reprints/preprints of publications, and the names and contact information for three academic references.
